The owner and teacher at the Brno Photo School, an external educator at the Institute of Creative Photography of the Philosophical-Natural Sciences Faculty at the Silesian University in Opava. He works as a freelance photographer as well. He is curator of the photographic galleries FOMA in Brno (1999-2001) and the Artists Gallery in Brno (since 2005).
Besides his earlier experimental work with the photogram technique, he also devotes his time to systematic documentaries – specifically to socially-oriented documentary photography similar to the works of J. Štreit (pictures from the life of the Premonstrate monks at the monastery in Želiv – the collection, Convent / Konvent (1993 – 1994) or the People of the Hlučín Area / Lidé Hlučínska from the 1990s (1994 – 1995). He then gradually moved on to much more ambiguous photographic messages – Roma in the City of Brno / Romové ve městě Brně (1998 – 1999). His work to date culminated in the subjective documentary shots, compiled into the collection, Ecce homo, and created gradually since 1999 in the Czech Republic, France, Portugal and Israel.
In recent years he has created primarily colour documentary series of photographs from the Czech Republic – My Country / Má vlast.
