Hypersensitive

Géringová has been working with sugar icing as an artistic medium since 1998. To begin with she used it as decoration. However, the icing gradually acquired the status of distinct technique that she used to cite texts. In the series Baked Hearts, which includes Hypersensitive, she draws on dough as a symbol of the feminine world and returns to returns to an atavistic theme by writing what are taken to be feminine traits and attributes on the hearts. She thus interrogates men’s attitudes toward women and selects from them a certain spectrum of nomination.
